Lymphatic and Immune Systems - Beginner
Practical - Insightful- Enjoyable
Where lymphatic waste management meets immune prowess.
The lymphatic system is simple but very important. It drains the waste products of the entire body, eventually dumping them into the bloodstream where they can be taken up by the liver and kidneys for final processing. In addition, the system serves as the “vehicle” for the immune system, producing and hosting white cells and offering a ground for the “immune” battles of the body. The two are now seen as a continuous system. “Lymphatic stagnation” has always been an accepted category in alternative medicine though it is not acknowledged in biomedicine.
In this class, we discuss the lymphatic side of this system and how it operates with the spleen, thymus, lymphoid tissue, immune system, and remedies for “lymphatic stagnation." We also touch on GALT (gut-associated lymphoid tissue) and its role in digestive health and the overall health of the body.
