Holistic Nutrition

Essential - Nourishing - Practical

Where ancient wisdom meets modern science to nourish your body and mind.

"Let thy food be thy medicine and thy medicine be thy food."

This quotation is credited to Hippocrates and is as valid today as it was in ancient times. Our food contains the fundamental elements and basic building blocks to support our bodies. From the moment we are conceived to the day we die, we rely upon food to nourish us.
Nutrition is the foundation of our health. So simple a truth, yet so often overlooked by conventional medicine. It’s rarely discussed at home or school. Everyone agrees that we need good nutrition, but so, so many people have no idea what that means or how to achieve it.

Good nutrition is vital for normal growth and development, maintenance of our cells, detoxification processes, and a healthy brain and nervous system. It is necessary for our health, longevity, and quality of life. The knowledge of good nutrition and healthy eating empowers us to take responsibility for our own health and the health of our families. This can translate into fewer doctor’s visits, potentially longer life, and increased quality of life.

This class series is appropriate for the beginner as well as the advanced student. It covers the basics of good nutrition and more. We include a discussion of traditional foodways as well as the science of nutrition.
