Healthy Weight Management

Healthy Weight Management

Insightful - Practical- Transformative

Practical tools to navigate the complexities of weight management.

Struggling with weight?

More people are overweight and obese than ever. It's a real health crisis.

You'll understand the factors of why people struggle to achieve a healthy weight and then maintain it, and help your herbal client address this fundamental health issue.
We're not talking vanity here; this is about being the healthiest you can be!

The struggle is real, especially as you get older and your metabolism changes:
• losing those last five pounds
• losing weight one month and gaining it back the next
• busy lives
• overwhelm
• calorie restriction with dramatic mood changes and binge eating later
• exercise is not fun

This course is a shortcut to understanding the multifaceted realm of healthy weight achievement and maintenance.

It’s all about learning new dietary approaches and sticking with them until they become routine.

It’s also about cultivating patience and giving yourself the time and opportunity to be the version of yourself you want to see.

And, it’s also about not depriving yourself of treats and sweets on special occasions!

While most people’s goal is to lose weight, this class also addresses issues for those rare few that struggle to put on weight.

In this course, you’ll learn about:

  • Weight Management Complexities - Gaining or losing weight isn’t always a straightforward input vs output situation. It can be much more complex involving our emotions, our hormones, food availability, our stress level, and almost every aspect of our lives.
  • Fundamentals of Fat - It’s all about the fat - where it’s stored, what we do with it, and why we need it. Losing fat generally involves changing your dietary approach while protecting muscle.
  • Hormonal Influences on Weight - It’s not just reproductive hormones - estrogen, progesterone, testosterone - that influences our weight. Other hormones also play a role in how we gain weight and where it’s stored, such as cortisol, leptin, insulin, ghrelin, and a host of neurotransmitters.
  • Weight Management Tips - We’ll discuss goal-setting, portion control, exercise, the Plate, and other handy little tips to make losing weight achievable.
  • Popular Diets - Do they really work? What about intermittent fasting? Are smoothies and meal replacements helpful? How about the Paleo diet or the Keto diet? How about the DASH diet, the Carnivore diet, or Intuitive eating? Let’s take at look at the most popular diets and how they might benefit you.
